I implemented my own experiences as a patient at psych wards and mental hospitals for this. It'd definitely depend on the time and setting but you get the picture. Not all are my personal experiences but also things that happened to co-patients that I witnessed or discovered while in the ward. Same goes for the other mental illness things. My brother has one of the conditions I gave Zantafio.

It's also the name of the San Diego Zoo giant panda that we pretend is RL panda!Chang but that is not important. Anyway, I recently realized that in the flood that took place in "Blue Lotus" that Chang lost everything in the disaster, and that got the ball rolling for this fic.
