When Justin paints, music playing in the background is a must. The right playlist sets the mood for any painting he’s working on. The songs embody his feelings and this all gets translated onto the huge, expansive canvasses in bold splashes and blocks of color.

This evening’s playlist has a whole lot of New Orleans jazz included that inspires a colorful and frenetic piece about his recent trip to Mardi Gras.

Some of his new friends in New York decided on a whim to drive down and partake in the festivities, so Justin decided ‘Why the hell not’ and went along too. It was a whirlwind and they were only in the city for 36 hours before they had to make the 22 hour return trip. Andrew, his roommate had needed to be back for a Calculus midterm on Tuesday morning, but the whole trip was an experience that Justin would treasure forever.

Later in the wee hours of the morning, when Justin's creative burst has been sated for the night, he slips into bed next to Brian and curls into his sleep-warm body. While travel and new adventures will always call his name and inspire him creatively, Justin can't imagine ever not wanting to fall asleep next to his... Brian.
